EIA: Weekly Ethanol Production Up 0.4% to 4Wk High Last Wk OAKHURST, N.J. (DTN) -- Overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.042 million bpd in the week ended Oct. 11, according to the latest Energy Information Administration data, up 4,000 bpd week-on-week to a four-week high and 0.7% higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.022 million bpd was 8,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 985,000 bpd, up 6,000 bpd week-on-week and 0,000 bpd, or 0% lower than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 964,000 bpd was 3,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Ethanol blending activity in the U.S. averaged 912,000 bpd, down 0,000 bpd week-on-week and 3,000 bpd, or 0.3% lower than in the same week last year. Four-week average blending demand at 908,000 bpd was 7,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Blender inputs at the East Coast were up 1,000 bpd on the week while inputs in the Midwest were up 5,000 bpd, down 2,000 bpd on the Gulf Coast and down 3,000 bpd on the West Coast. Domestic ethanol inventories ended the week at 22.275 million bbl, up 121,000 bbl week-on-week and 1.163 million bbl, or 5.2% higher than in the same week last year. East Coast PADD 1 inventories ended the week at 6.752 million bbl, down 292,000 bbl week-on-week and 163,000 bbl, or 2.4% higher than in the same week last year. Midwest PADD 2 inventories ended the week at 9.139 million bbl, up 145,000 bbl week-on-week and 914,000 bbl, or 10% higher than in the same week last year. Gulf Coast PADD 3 inventories ended the week at 3.952 million bbl, up 354,000 bbl week-on-week and 499,000 bbl, or 12.6% higher than in the same week last year.
